How Sialkot instruments are made
An instrument from Sialkot passes through several specialist workshops before it's packed. These are the four main stages. The photos are illustrative.

Grinding and shaping
Forged steel blanks are ground to shape, then the joint is fitted and riveted.

Polishing and finishing
Each piece is polished to a satin or mirror finish, or given a matte black or titanium coat.

Hand sharpening
Edges are sharpened by hand and set so that jaws and blades meet along their full length.

Testing and inspection
Nippers are test-cut on cuticle film, shears on wet cotton, and tweezer tips are checked under magnification.
